Yes you are--[For once, Crow actually notices the staring, which prompts him to wave a hand--both in a way to try to dismiss the conversation, and perhaps hopefully to get Firo to notice the other people nearby too.]

Whatever; I don't feel like wasting my time with this anymore, so just get over it already. I thought you had thicker skin than that, instead of getting worked up over something like this.

[Crow succeeds in getting Firo to direct his attention outside their conversation and he shuts up when he sees the people noticing them. Oops. He reflects that he'll probably owe Crow an apology for this, but hopefully they can get away without trouble.

He reaches to pull Crow along by his arm, walking up the street.]

...Come on, let's go. We still need to, um... get groceries for mom.

[It's the only quick explanation he can think of for two kids holding a wallet in the street.]

Groceries? [Really that's the best excuse you could come up with? We don't even have a mom--but at least he doesn't immediately call Firo out on the lie and somewhat goes along with it, even though he gives a slightly petulant yank in attempting to retrieve his arm back.]

Who said you could grab and drag me along? I can walk just fine on my own, y'know.

Y-yeah, bread, milk, eggs... Just go with it...

[He lets go when Crow yanks away. There really was no reason to grab the kid, but Firo was a little worried that he wouldn't follow. The worry was pretty much unfounded; Crow knew the trouble was up before Firo did.]

I was just makin' sure you'd keep up!

I am keepin' up. [In fact he quickens his stride to walk alongside, nearly intent on walking right on past him.] You're lucky I didn't break your hand just now from grabbing me.

[Would he actually do that, though? ...Maybe, maybe not. He's not sure if he actually dislikes Firo enough to want to cause physical harm to him.]

Oh, please, as if I'd let you do that.

[He frowns, shaking his head.]

You coulda' just asked for me to let go, too.

[Except Firo totally would break someone's hand if they touched him. Not Crow, though.]

Whatever. [He looks around them now. At least they had walked away out of sight and earshot of the people that had been nearby before, so after a moment--] I think the coast is clear, so we should probably be okay now?

[He looks around to verify Crow's observation.]

Yeah, looks like it.

Um... sorry I yelled back there.

[Firo we're not your girlfriend you don't need to apologize for yelling]

Yeah yeah, just don't let it happen again. [...Are you expecting an apology in return for the "pretty boy" comment?]

[As if Firo would yell at his girlfriend! Or talk sternly with her. Or actually have a girlfriend.]

[Yeah, he was hoping.]

So you're sayin' I just started yellin' at you outta nowhere, huh?

Yeah, that is what I'm saying. I'm not the one who started overreacting, y'know.

[...This is just gonna turn into another pointless argument at this rate, isn't it?]

Of course you didn't react, you're not the one who was insulted!

[He shouldn't take such an exasperated tone considering he's the one who brought up the old argument again.]

[Crow seems just as exasperated with it too as he rolls his eyes.]

We wouldn't have to, if you hadn't brought up this stupid argument again.

...Yeah. [And just like that, the argument appears to have been forgotten about momentarily.] Now to figure out what I'm gonna spend it on...

[Of course that money would be burning a hole in his pocket are you even surprised...]

["Try" being the key word. Firo finds that trying to take care of the necessary expenses that pop up takes more of his "earnings" than he'd think.]

Save it for what?

[Go ahead Firo, name something that someone like Crow would need to save up money for.]

You know, in case you get sick and need medicine or you need food... It's good to have some in case.

[He'd point out that no one wants to be poor forever, but he's pretty sure that they will be no matter how hard they try to save.]

...Well yeah, I guess there is that, but I wanna have cool stuff sometimes too, y'know.

[As much as he bashes rich people, or heck even upper middle class for still being financially better off than he is, at the same time he can't help but feel a little jealous at all the nice and shiny things they have that he doesn't. If he ends up throwing his money to some dumb thing, then he'll just steal more money to pay for other stuff?]

[Firo's not entirely without material desires either, but he's resigned himself to the fact that they'll never be fulfilled.]

...Where would you even keep "cool stuff" if you had it?

[He doesn't know about Crow's living conditions, but he assumes they can't be very secure.]
