so that I know what method your character is using to try to contact him so that he can respond properly

Oh yeah? [Judging by his tone though, he doesn't actually sound skeptical this time, as if he was already thinking something like that, but--] You mean there's something special besides the cool wings?

Of course! What, you can't tell? [Because that was totally a thing you could notice just by looking.]

C'mon, it should be obvious!

[staaare...sorry, maybe he's a little dense]

Well I guess you're kinda cool even without the fancy wings?

[She frowned, almost looking a little...disappointed?]

Well, I suppose that'll have to do for now.

[By that point she had apparently decided that she had spent enough time resting, because she slid off the tree branch and attempted to use her wings to slow her descent.

This was not going to go well.]

Huh? Where are you going?

[Crow then quickly pushes himself off his own branch to try to follow her...

...let us send a prayer to a deity somewhere that they don't end up crashing into the ground or into each other doing that.]

[Unfortunately that deity only saw fit to keep her from falling straight to the ground. She did manage to land on her feet, though!

For about a second before she stumbled and took a spill, anyway. Stupid heels.]

Owwww...

[Crow manages to land on his feet, but he certainly wobbles upon doing so, only managing to not fall flat on his face by waving his arms rather comically to keep himself standing. He then turns to check on Jane, who appears to have not been so lucky.]

You okay?

[disastergirl]

[She picked herself up as quickly as she could and dusted herself off. While her shoulder had visibly taken the brunt of the fall, she appeared to be in good enough spirits.]

Well, yeah! You're not worrying about me, are you?

[UH--]

No. Besides, there's no reason to worry. [>___>;;]

[Surprisingly, she just beamed in response.]

Exactly. I was hoping you'd say something like that!

[......Yep! Of course we would say something like that!]

Well yeah, were you expecting me to say otherwise?

[People not worrying about her is a plus in her book okay. It is right now, anyway]

I wasn't 100% sure, if that's what you mean. You need to be pretty close to someone to be absolutely sure about something like that, wouldn't you say?

Yeah, you got a point. [...] Still, I'm usually right about these kind of things, so if I say there's nothing to worry about, then there's no need to waste time doing so.

Is that so? [Uh oh. She just might make you put your money where your mouth is on that one, Crow.]

Does that mean you wouldn't worry if I flew as high as I could right this second?

[BRING IT] Nope--in fact, that might actually be cool to see.

Alright then!

[She wouldn't even have considered it if she was in a normal state of mind--even she had some sense of self-preservation--but right then it seemed like a great idea. Of course she was strong enough to manage this!

While she managed to get off the ground, the higher up she went, the more difficult it became...]

Oh~, guess you really can go pretty high! [But Crow's just gonna lift off the ground too to follow her...

...Not to make sure she won't fall out of the sky or anything, if she gets too far away then she'll be too small to see from the view down here!]

[To be honest, she had been starting to wonder if this was high enough, but that idea was thrown aside when she noticed him following her. Now she had to keep on going, even though it was tiring. No, she had to keep on going because it was tiring.

Just a little bit higher, then she'd go back down.]

See? I can go as high as I want...!

Yeah--see, I was right! That was cool to see!

[Aside from safety taking a backseat and all.]

Wha--?

[Nope, she was not in the right condition to argue with him over that. Instead she made her descent with her pride satisfied, and this time she managed to make it down to the ground without falling on her face. Whew.

Maybe she could just sit down and relax under this tree for a while... Don't fall asleep, Jane!]

[Well unless you're a quick and heavy sleeper, there is one person still here that might prevent you from falling asleep too easily. Crow will drop back down to the ground a moment after she lands...lacking any grace whatsoever in doing so as he stumbles a bit, but we can just prop a hand on this tree here.]

What, are you tired again already? [says mr. "had to lean on a tree to keep from ending up on our face"...]

I'm just going to take a little nap, that's all! The weather's definitely nice enough for it.

[She...kind of sidestepped the question there. Maybe Crow wouldn't notice?]

Huh? So you're gonna go to sleep now?

[We thought people didn't usually do that until night-time...]

Probably. Just for a little while, though! [Hopefully she wouldn't oversleep.]

I know it's not very interesting, so I'm not going to make you stay or anything.

[Normally, Crow would already clear on outta here at the first sign of a definitive lack of "fun" happening, but...]

You sure? Sleeping seems kind of boring.

[Then again...he really wouldn't know what sleeping is like for most people, uh--]
