so that I know what method your character is using to try to contact him so that he can respond properly

Well, no, but...

[There's nothing he can say to argue to that. Crow's been dropping hints for a while and now there's evidence to back them up.]

It's fine if you don't tell me, but for all I know there could be some other way you got hurt. So if there is, you should tell me now.

[He stands up and holds his hand out for Crow in case he needs to be helped to his feet.]

... [Crow says nothing, just stares at the offered hand for a long moment before he actually reaches out to grab it. His sleeve is drooping again a little though, so Firo might be able to sneak a peek again at what it was he saw earlier--the metal skin of his wrist and the screws and such holding him, and probably the rest of him, together in one piece.]

[Firo has a feeling he shouldn't, but he can't stop himself from staring at Crow's wrist anyway as he pulls the kid up. His eyes widen slightly when he sees the screws--looks like he wasn't imagining it.

After staring for a moment, he blinks and looks away self-consciously. The last thing he wants to do is make Crow feel uncomfortable after sharing that.]

[If Crow notices, he doesn't say anything. Instead he just pulls himself to his feet and brushes himself off of any dirt. (Which is kind of a lost cause, considering that Crow probably rarely washes his clothes)

Rather than dwelling on Firo knowing, Crow's actually wondering about Seto at the moment and whether he should say anything about Firo to him.]

[He watches Crow carefully, unsure of how to proceed. He doesn't want to offend him, but he doesn't even have any idea how to avoid that.]

Um... So is there anything else I should know? Like... I dunno, is there anything you need?

No. I don't need anything, except for you to not go blabbing about this to everyone here.

[He almost snaps it, somewhat offended that Crow would think he'd do that. Immediately he regrets that; perhaps it's not accurate to reality, but he feels like they might be reaching a fragile trust. He doesn't want to screw that up.]

[That actually catches him by surprise for some reason.]

Huh? Why are you thanking me for that?

[He shrugs, suddenly uncomfortable now that he has to justify the remark. He doesn't like focusing on his feelings.]

You didn't have to tell me that. And I... I guess it means somethin' that you did.

Not that I'm gonna think about you any differently now, but...

[Maybe they can trust each other a little more now? He falters before he can say that. Maybe Crow really doesn't want to trust him anymore than this.]

...It doesn't bother you? [Crow sounds skeptical, as if he thinks it should bother him, but...then again, it didn't bother Seto, so maybe...]

No, it doesn't. You're family.

[That makes perfect sense as an explanation to him.]

Family? [...Huh. He's actually not sure how to react to that. That's not a word he hears very often in regards to him, you know.]

[foundafamily]

Yeah. You're Seto's best friend and we've lived together for a while, so you're family.

[Which is Firo's way of saying "I care about you."]

[tomodachi]

...Oh. [He probably should say more than just that to somebody referring to him as a member of the family.

...But at least he doesn't seem to be as angry or annoyed as he did before?]

[Firo looks away, uncertain how he should take that.]

...It's fine if you don't want to consider me your family. But just don't think for one second that anything about what you are would change the way I feel about you.

[Family is family, no matter what someone is. Firo would never look down on Ennis for being a homonculus and the same goes for Crow. Whatever he actually is.]

[jiiiiiiiiiiii--okay no uh, he just kind of stares for a few more seconds...

...before suddenly walking over and (lightly? he tries anyway) punching firo in the arm.]

Alright, I get it, so enough with the sad faces already. [And then, he actually grins a little, teasing tone starting to slip back in.] If you're gonna say all that, then you should look way happier at the idea of having the great Crow-sama as a part of the family, you know?

[Firo jumps at the touch and looks up at Crow. His eyes widen and his face lights up as Crow speaks.

He almost feels like he could hug Crow, but that would probably embarrass both of them. Instead, Firo smiles and returns the punch to Crow's arm.]

...Shut up. Of course I'm happy.

[tomodachi]

[Yeah, hugging would be a little embarrassing, let's try to be cool here.]

Now that's more like it. [There's a slight pause, before he adds--] And since we're family, I guess I can let you off the hook a little for causing me to fall off the roof. [Not complete forgiveness exactly, but he's not angry about it at least. But Crow falling off the roof is your own fault...]

[His smile fades and it takes considerable effort not to look away in shame.]

...Thanks. But I am sorry for that. I-I guess I shoulda' handled that better.

Yeah you shoulda', but relax, I'm not mad at you for it. [Not anymore, anyway.] 'Sides, it's not the first time I've fallen.

[...Crow......]

[Firo was about to smile, but now he just looks horrified.]

...You told me you don't fall! You-you need to be careful!

It's not like I fall off on purpose! [...most of the time] Besides, it only happened like one other time, so it's not a big deal.

[...Well actually it's been three times now, there was once when he slipped on ice last year but SSSHHH]

[He shakes his head.]

It is a big deal! Even if you can't get hurt, you... You could, I dunno, break or somethin'!

Well I didn't break anything after falling off that wheel at the park, so--[...wait shit we shouldn't have said that QUICK CROW SAY SOMETHING ELSE]--Like I said, not a big deal! I can handle just about anything!

[Except dead batteries, that is.]

[The little rusty gears in his head start turning. He and Crow talked about wheels before, didn't they? Like the ones in Crow's drawings...

Firo suddenly goes pale.]

The Ferris wheel? You fell off the fucki--the god damn Ferris wheel?
