[He ponders teasing Crow about not knowing what they are. Maybe if he weren't so tired.]

They, uh... They were kinda like scientists, I guess, just with really weird stuff. The elixir, homonculi... That kinda stuff.

...Right, got it.

[No, he doesn't got it--at least, not completely, he still has no idea what elixirs or homonculi are. But please, do go on anyway.]

[He shrugs, wondering how he can wrap up a story like this. It all seemed pretty weird at the time and he's still not clear on all the alchemy stuff.]

A while ago I, uh... took some alcohol from some guy and it turned out to be the elixir. So now if somebody kills me I just come back.

So...you drank some kind of stuff and now you don't get hurt from anything anymore? [That's what he's getting out of this, anyway.] Sounds pretty weird to me.

Hey, I never said it wasn't weird. Just less weird than what happened on the draft.

[He makes a slight face at that, as if almost disgusted by the idea.]

Wasn't planning on it.

[Firo holds his hands up defensively.]

Not that I think you would. Just thought I'd mention it, okay?

Right... [But Crow is eyeing him a little suspiciously nonetheless. That is some pretty odd information to process, and maybe there's a part of him that's a little jealous that Firo can recover so easily from stuff that would probably kill him...]

So...what? You died and just got right back up again out there? [Out on the battlefield Firo was at recently, he means.]

[Firo's not sure what to make of that look. Some people mistake immortality for the sure sign of a vampire or a monster. Firo can't always be sure he isn't the latter, but if he is, it's not because of the elixir.]

Sorta. This time was... different. For starters, everybody came back, not just me. And when we were dead, it was... different.

Different? How?

[He's always assumed that death is the same for everybody...]

[It was far more horrifying than any time before it. But he doesn't want to admit that to anyone, especially not Crow.]

It felt different. It's not important.

[tomodachi]

How is that not important? It's death, isn't it? That's like...a really big deal for a lot of humans, right?

[And for him too, but Mr. "I can't get hurt" is a little hesitant to admit it.]

[Uh oh. He's a little worried that Crow's seen through his lie, but he'll continue it anyway.

Despite his best efforts, his speech becomes noticeably more clipped, suggesting something's amiss.]

Yeah, well. It's not a big deal for me.

[tomodachi]

...You're kidding, right?

[Because this is pretty damn hypocritical, for you to harp on him about the stunts he pulls and now saying that dying isn't actually a big deal to you, you know? Plus...well, there's a reason he's glad Seto is asleep right now, otherwise this would probably be a bad conversation to have with him around...]

[He blinks and stares at Crow. Was his lying really so obvious? He's going to have to work on that.]

[Firo's rarely aware of his own hypocrisy.]

[Without warning, there's a fist coming towards your face. If Firo doesn't dodge it in time, it's gonna end up being pretty painful, what with the robotic hand and all. It might even leave a bruise or break his nose if Crow's aim is off, at least until the immortal healing powers kick in.

Either way, Crow is attempting to punch you in the face. What will you do, Firo?]

[Firo doesn't see it coming until it's too late. Much as he'd preach against it to others, he'd let his guard down once he got home. He tries to move out of the way, but that only runs his mouth right into Crow's fist.

He's more confused than angry as he blinks at Crow, hand covering his face. Though it'll heal in a moment, there's a cut on his lip and his face is smarting.]

What the hell was that for?!

Because that was a really stupid thing to say, you moron!

[Besides, what does it matter, your face is gonna heal in a few seconds or so right, which makes him feel almost no guilt at all about hitting you.]

[For a moment, Firo forgets that others are sleeping and raises his voice. Maybe volume will make up for his lack of certainty.]

It wasn't stupid-- it's the truth!

Then you're an idiot. [He even stretches the word out a little as he says it.]

Of course death is a big deal, you can't just say that it's not just because you've got that trick of yours or whatever.

[That makes him reel almost as much as the punch.]

[Well, he is in a lot of things, but he doesn't think he is in this.]

It's not. And that's no reason to hit me.

Yes it is! Geez, do I need to hit you again or something before you stop saying that?

[Because he really will hit you again if he thinks he has to.]

[He shakes his head, still dumbfounded. By now, his feelings hurt more than his face--despite all their arguments, has Crow ever gotten angry enough to lash out?]

That's because I'm not dumb enough to say that death isn't a big deal, unlike some idiots around here.

[He's still going to keep saying that you're an idiot about this, sorry Firo.]

[Firo stares--well, it's sort of half a glare--at Crow as he tries to figure out just what offended the kid so much. When he finally comes up with something, he feels a little guilty.]

...Are you worried about dyin'?

[But can Crow even die? Firo'd assumed that a robot couldn't.]
