[Hello everyone! We hope you've been having a good day, that things are going well for you, and that you don't care about the kid that suddenly jumps down from the roof near you without any warning. Because that's exactly what Crow is doing as we speak: all day he's been climbing up onto the roofs of different small houses or trees, and then jumping down, trying to get the wings to work. You see, Crow is restless, and when he's restless, he tends to do...well, stupid things sometimes.

Of course the wings don't work though and he plummets like a stone, but luckily lands right on his feet just fine in most cases, or even if he doesn't land so gracefully, he gets right back up and walks it off. Eventually though he seems to have gotten frustrated.]

What's the point of having wings if they don't even let you fly!?

[If you're going to approach him, be careful about having anything shiny on your person when you do: Crow sometimes has a habit of taking things that don't belong to him as well. ((ooc: Don't worry though, you will get your stuff back if he actually tries to take anything.))]

That's still stupid to have wings that don't fly or do anything useful like that. [Other than occasionally getting them to move a little and supposedly killing people if you try to remove them from someone??]

Course it is. These wings are pretty stupid. And useless, for the most part.

But if you think the Malnosso were gonna be thoughtful and give us wings that work, then you probably need another month or two here for things to sink in. We're just useful rats, is all.

[tch] I can't just sit around and do nothing--I'd rather try to find some use for them than not even trying at all.

[there's a slight pause before he shrugs] Besides, it's fun and gives me something to do around here...

[Akamaru cocks his head, and barks once. Kiba snorts and dismounts, letting the dog pad forward. He sniffs at Crow intently, tail wagging.]

Well, you can do what you want, [jumping from high places is one of his favorite pastimes] but expecting to fly is probably a bit too much to hope for. Best you could probably do with those is get them to slow down all the jumping and falling you've probably been doing for hell knows how long.

Well that's better than nothing, I guess. [He's been at this for an hour or so now, and he has at least noticed that maybe they could be used to slow him down a little from falling...

When the dog approached, Crow doesn't really move, although he does leans away a little from Akamaru when the dog starts sniffing at him--it's not that he's afraid of dogs, no, but he doesn't know if Akamaru would be able to tell that he's not a human based on smell alone. Then again he doesn't wash his clothes as often as he should, so maybe that would help cover it up a little...]

[Akamaru tilts his head as Crow leans away, and promptly sits on his haunches, emitting a low whine. They both can smell that he's not quite human—Kiba's sense of smell is even stronger than his dog's—but if it bothers either of them, neither show it. Kiba can't really say he gives a damn whether Crow's human, a robot, or something else entirely. Akamaru's opinion is even less. They're more bothered by the smell on the clothes, quite frankly.]

Pity you don't have any chakra in you though. Might have a little more fun jumping off of shit that way if you had stuff like it to work with.

[He's a robot to be exact, and previously living in a post-apocalyptic world with barely any other people around doesn't really help teach you about the need to properly look after one's clothing.]

"Chakra"? [Now it's his turn to look curious.] What's that?

It's physical energy in your body that's been converted into spiritual energy for you to use. [At least that's the definition he got from the academy on. ...Noooot that he listened to most of it, but it's a basic concept.] Lets you do stuff you wouldn't be able to do normally. Not all worlds have it, which is kind of weird, but whatever, I guess.

What kind'a stuff can you do with it?

Depends on the person and what you're taught. But there's some really simple stuff most everyone in the academy learns how to do back home. Like being able to walk on water or henge into something else.

[And Akamaru is more than happy to illustrate, abruptly transforming into his younger self, jumping up onto Kiba's head in the meantime, and looking rather pleased.]

...Heh, color me impressed. [No really, that is cool. Crow's already tempted to start reaching a hand out to try to touch Akamaru to see if it's real, even with watching it transform into a smaller version.] Nobody ever did anything like that back where I was from.

[Though that was because there was nobody around for doing cool stuff like that but details.]

[And Akamaru doesn't seem to mind, yipping from his perch. if touched, Crow would find Akamaru's form to be real enough.]

Cool, yeah? Beats me how people from worlds like yours manage without stuff like this. Be kind of boring if everyone was all normal.

[Oooh, neat. Though it's pretty obvious Crow has very little experience with petting dogs since he's mostly just (gently, at least) poking Akamaru a little before he retracts the hand.]

Yeah--you get a couple of people that are alright, but otherwise it's just boring most of the time.

[The poking bit was a bit odd, but whatever. Not that Akamaru's going to bite him. The dog's pretty chill.]

And what kind of place are you from?

...It's kinda quiet, in comparison to this place.
