[Crow even moves away a little to get into position, so that when he does make his entrance to sneak up to the guy, the guy won't notice him approaching from behind when Firo goes to talk to him. They just have to wait for their mark to show...]

[Firo walks off a few paces from Crow. As he's getting into the act of searching for his poor lost kitty, a rather average looking middle-aged man in a suit is coming up the street.

Firo's pretty good at looking innocent even when he's not trying. Now, he trots up to the man looking his most innocuous and starts spilling the story.

In a way, it's a shame that the guy's nice enough to hear out the poor distressed teenager. He's completely distracted for the moment.]

[Gosh, this is no time to start feeling guilty now, whether the guy's nice or not. For a brat who is usually rather loud when it comes to insulting people, Crow is actually rather stealthy when he puts his mind to it. Once the guy's distracted, Crow sneaks up behind him quietly, careful not to make a sound. Now just comes the hard part--reaching in and taking the wallet out of the pocket without the guy feeling it or noticing.

We hope you're really good at holding his attention, Firo, because Crow's going to go in for the kill now...]

[To avoid giving his partner away, Firo keeps his eyes fixed on the man in front of him and relies on his peripheral vision to detect Crow's movement. When Crow's close and reaching for the man's pocket, Firo waves his hand in the other direction. Ostensibly it's to show the man all the places he's already tried looking and the direction where the poor kitty's home is, but it succeeds in sending the baffled man's attention far away from Crow.

It'll only completely divert the man's attention for a few moments, but that should be long enough for Crow to spirit away the wallet.]

[Good thinking, Firo. Crow manages to lift the wallet off the poor guy, (giving a slight wave to indicate that he got it) and then proceeds to back away as quickly and quietly as possible. He's doing his best to keep his eye on his feet to make sure he doesn't actually trip over anything at first, before turning around and trying to quickly sneak away before the guy thinks to turn around and notice him in the vicinity...

...and almost trips over an actual cat that darts out from a side street, but he manages to just barely side-step it to try to hide around that corner that the cat came from. ~~You did not see any moments of near-klutziness okay~~]

[Firo does his best to suppress a small smile when he sees Crow's wave. Their mission's done, now they just have to get away...

He jumps when he sees Crow stumble, and as the man follows Firo's line of sight, he worries that he may have ruined the whole plan. Groping for an excuse, he points to the cat, exclaiming that it's his. An excuse made for his sudden exit, he dashes off after the cat, calling out a thank you to their unfortunate victim.

He follows the cat until he's out of the man's sight, then he waits to see if Crow'll come by. If he doesn't after a few minutes, he'll go out and try to find him. Hopefully the guy will be gone by then.]

[Well we haven't seen the guy here where we're hiding, so hopefully the coast should be clear. Crow can be found around a corner further up the street from where they had found that guy, muttering something about "stupid cats" when he notices Firo. He holds up the wallet with a slight grin.]

Told'ya that I'd be able to get it.

[Firo grins and walks over to him.]

You know, I had my doubts for a while...

[He's joking, of course. He gestures to the wallet.]

Open it up. Let's see how much we got.

[He rolls his eyes at the jab, but grins all the same.]

Yeah, alright. [Opening up the wallet is a go!] There's some business cards and a receipt for something, plus some cash... [But how much money do you think we've got here that could be divided up between us?]

[He cranes his neck to see what's inside. If he were more used to handling money, it probably wouldn't seem like so much; of course a guy isn't going to carry his whole fortune in his wallet. But still, the $60 inside is close enough to a windfall for Firo.]

How do you wanna split it?

[You better say 50/50.]

Well, I did go through a lot of trouble to sneak up and take the wallet without the guy noticing, so I'd say 60/40, with me getting the bigger cut.

[Actually he's (mostly) just saying that to see what Firo's reaction would be rather than being completely serious. Otherwise, if they did split the money 50/50, he'd probably be okay with it...provided that he gets to keep the wallet itself too.]

[Firo's reaction is at first to blink in surprise--and a little bit of hurt. Didn't they work together on this? He even picked out the target himself and everything! But considering this is Crow, he soon wonders if the kid's entirely serious. Jokingly, he reaches out to cuff Crow over the head.]

Ah, come on! You needed my brain to plan everything out.

[Crow's still grinning, so that might be a positive sign that he's joking, even when he speaks again.]

Nah, I could'a figured it out on my own. In fact, I could do it with my hands tied behind my back! [Sure you could, Crow...]

Oh, yeah? How about you try that on the next guy so I can see your genius in action?

[He chuckles.]

50/50. I'm bein' generous.

Wow, I am so touched by your generosity, Firo... [But despite his sarcasm, he can live with splitting the money evenly...well--] Fine, but I wanna keep the wallet.

[You can have the business cards or whatever else that's in there.]

[He grins.]

Thanks, pal.

Keep the wallet. But why do ya want it?

Why not? I'm sure I could find a use for it.

[Crow doesn't like throwing things away if he can help it. Though it's likely he isn't going to use it like a normal person would because hello, we don't want to get pick-pocketed ourselves, so he'll stash it somewhere else. (Where does he put the money then? It's a mystery...)]

[He shrugs; it doesn't matter so much to him.]

Whatever suits you.

So what do you think? I'd say we're a pretty good team.

[He can be more honest now that they both have their equal share.]

...Yeah--you're not bad to team up with, I guess.

[Though even with saying he guesses Firo is right, saying that you're "not bad" is practically a compliment coming from him. ^^;;]

[He moves to elbow Crow in the ribs, but, hey, he'll take it.]

Would you wanna team up again sometimes?

Well, you know me, I'm a busy guy. [...] But if I don't have something better to do, then why not, teaming up again some other time can't hurt, especially if we get good stuff like this again.

Sounds good to me. But if you're afraid it'll cut into the time you block off to spend crying by yourself, I could always ask somebody else...

[He can't help but smirk.]

You wanna pick the target next time?

Why not, maybe I will pick the target next time.

...And for your information, I've never cried, not once in my entire life. [How would you even know that for sure, Crow...] Besides it's not like I wanna cut into your time for knitting sweaters or whatever it is pretty boys like you pretend to do to get people to like you... [Just what does he think Firo does with his time when he's not hanging out on the streets either?]

[He opens his mouth for a joking retort, but it snaps shut when he fully registers what Crow said. Saying he knits is one thing, but did Crow really just use the p word?

All amusement gone, he steps forward until he's well into Crow's personal bubble space.]

I'll warn you now, don't you ever call me that again.

[...Wow what's with that attitude and what are you doing in our personal space. But he doesn't step back to re-establish personal space just yet, standing his ground.]

What, "pretty boy"? [Of all the things to be offended by, you're offended by that?]
