[Hello everyone! We hope you've been having a good day, that things are going well for you, and that you don't care about the kid that suddenly jumps down from the roof near you without any warning. Because that's exactly what Crow is doing as we speak: all day he's been climbing up onto the roofs of different small houses or trees, and then jumping down, trying to get the wings to work. You see, Crow is restless, and when he's restless, he tends to do...well, stupid things sometimes.

Of course the wings don't work though and he plummets like a stone, but luckily lands right on his feet just fine in most cases, or even if he doesn't land so gracefully, he gets right back up and walks it off. Eventually though he seems to have gotten frustrated.]

What's the point of having wings if they don't even let you fly!?

[If you're going to approach him, be careful about having anything shiny on your person when you do: Crow sometimes has a habit of taking things that don't belong to him as well. ((ooc: Don't worry though, you will get your stuff back if he actually tries to take anything.))]

How's that stupid? Pirates use boats in all the stories!

What "skills" would that be?

[He does! The watch Maiza gave him for Christmas is on his wrist as it's always been since he got it. Crow may also have heard the occasional clinking of loose change in Firo's pocket, too.]

They do, but does it look like there's anywhere here that I could secretly keep a ship at? [And even if there is Seto would probably object to us living there anyway.]

And don't tell me you don't know what skills pirates have--it's all about the attitude, the ability to find shiny treasure, and taking that treasure for your own!

[Getting bored of just standing over here, he had started to walk towards the other now to properly join him or even just to move on past him to walk ahead. While he's saying all this, he may or may not be doing this so that's close enough to potentially swipe the watch or change here soon...]

There's the lake, but I guess that's not secret enough for you.

[He shakes his head.]

I do know! I'm just sayin', to get to do all that they usually learn to sail and stuff first. Plus, it'd be hard for 'em to steal much treasure if they couldn't work a gun or a cannon.

[A former pickpocket himself, Firo really should be suspicious of the sudden movement. And he is, but not enough so to move away more than an instinctive half step to the side. He's pretty sure it's just Crow being weird, nothing to worry about.]

Well I don't have either of those things, so I'll have to figure out some other way to work on those skills. I can't just stand around and wait until a ship just magically shows up here or whatever...

[The watch might be a little hard to remove without being noticed, but what about picking his pockets? Decisions, decisions, but he'll try to keep Firo distracted for a moment or two longer with talking...]

True. But you could probably find a gun around here somewhere, if you really wanted. I'm not sure if the people with boats would let you at one.

[The watch would be easier for Firo to notice if it were taken--and he'd probably react worse to it--but he hardly registers that the loose change is even there, so it shouldn't be to hard a target if Crow knows what he's doing.]

[He frowns, jabbing a finger at Firo's face.]

Why not? Are you saying I can't be trusted near one?

[That's because you can't, Crow. Either way, he decides to go for the change for now. Crow knows how to pick someone's pockets (he may or may not have practiced this a few times with an unaware Seto, but he usually returns Seto's things back to him soon afterwards), so he'll be trying to do that as subtly as possible now while Firo's attention is noting the finger in his face rather than the hand stealthily taking the change from his pocket...]

[Firo's thoroughly distracted and doesn't notice Crow reaching into his pocket. Annoyed, he tries to brush Crow's finger out of his face.]

That's not what I said! Why would they let somebody with no experience near one? It's just common sense!

[So basically, yes, he did say Crow couldn't be trusted.]

Well how else am I gonna get experience if I'm not allowed near them?

[But yes, good distraction. Successful pick-pocketing? He hopes so as he's retracted both hands now to jam his fists into his own pockets, creating the illusion of sulking about the conversation at hand.]

[Success! Firo doesn't notice his pocket getting lighter and assumes Crow's movements are just a show of his displeasure.]

Hey, it's not their problem. You might be outta luck unless you can find somebody really nice or really careless.

[Which reinforces what Crow was saying earlier about having to practice what he could practice, but Firo decides not to come out and agree just yet.]

[He stares at you intently for a moment before he then lets the conversation drop for now.]

Fine, whatever. Anyway, weren't we supposed to be goin' somewhere right now or are we just gonna stand around and keep talking? [They were going to the library, right?]

[He sighs, resigning himself to dealing with Crow's odd behavior, and nods.]

The library. You still wanna see those movies, right? A future pirate's gotta do some research.

[He manages not to laugh as he says the last part.]

[...Firo didn't catch on? Well that gives him more reason to grin again.]

Well what are waiting for, let's get going already! [ONWARD, SILLY HUMAN! LEAD US HEAD TO THE LIBRARY!]

All right, all right, don't be so impatient.

[Starting to walk, he shakes his head, but grins. He doesn't entirely miss the irony in him being the one to tell someone to be patient.]

I'm not being impatient, you're just being slow...

[Normally he'd just cartwheel right on past you but as it is...he's maybe a little concerned that our stolen change might fall out if we're not careful so for now you get "let's tease and gripe at Firo while we're walking" instead.]

And you're bein' a pain. We're almost there, you don't hafta wait for me if you're in such a hurry.

[he huffs, but there's not really any anger to it]

You should be grateful that I'm even giving you the luxury of my company rather than just leaving you here in the dust!

[He laughs teasingly.]

Trust me, that's not a luxury I'd be seekin' out any time soon.

[Still, he does quicken his pace as he points to the building they're approaching.]

It's right there.

Wh--oh! [So it is. And then he's rushing past Firo to go over to the building, pulling the door open--someone's eager.]

Then get over here already and show us where they keep the movies! [Crow lower your voice this is a library...]

[He shakes his head as he catches up to Crow and enters the library.]

Follow me. And keep quiet, okay? You're not supposed to yell in the library.

[How much do you want to bet Firo used to yell in the library when he was a kid?]

[All the stolen change in our pocket--I mean uh.]

Huh? Why? Is there some kind of rule against it?

[and if there is, he'll likely disregard it anyway]

Yeah, in most libraries people want some peace and quiet while they read. You can get thrown out if you're too loud, and then we'll hafta leave empty-handed.

[He doesn't know if there's an official Luceti librarian, but hopefully the threat will work anyway.]

Oh yeah? I'd love to see them try to throw me out...

[Crow no we didn't come here to cause trouble--maybe it would be better to steer him towards the movies before he does anything that could get people in here to actually try to throw them out...]

[He shakes his head; he was a brat in his youth (and he still is) but over time at least he learned to behave around books. It's Luck's fault, mostly.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from raising his voice in sheer frustration as he picks up his pace heading toward the movie section.]

I'd throw you out myself!

[Pfffthahaha] As if! There's no way you could throw me out--and besides with how loud you're being now too, you'll probably get thrown outta here before I do!

[SO BE QUIET FIRO YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE KIDS]

[Crow's point makes him realize just how loud he's being, and he shuts up.

Flushing, he whispers:]
